IVF with egg and/or sperm donation

Egg donation is the High Complexity Assisted Reproduction Technique that involves doing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with donated eggs and has the highest success rate for achieving a pregnancy.

All egg donations come from young women (average age between 20 to 27 years), healthy, non-infertile who undergo a complete questioning to rule out metabolic diseases, as well as psychological studies, complete physical examination emphasizing the absence of alterations of the female reproductive tract.

Finally, a screening is performed to rule out infectious diseases, as well as a chromosome study. All this before being accepted into our program. We have donors of all physical as well as racial characteristics. The donation is anonymous and altruistic.

All women have a biological clock which determines when the reproductive function will cease in women. The ideal reproductive age ranges from 18-35 years. After this age, a decline in ovarian function begins, which is reflected in the decrease in the quantity and quality of the ovules, so the possibility of achieving pregnancy spontaneously decreases and after the age of 38 the possibilities decrease significantly, even with highly complex Assisted Reproduction techniques. Upon reaching 42 years of age, the possibility of pregnancy is less than 5%, so the alternative in these patients is egg donation.

This program has been designed with the objective of providing the best coordination as well as the best success rates at a national and international level.

There are two variants regarding egg donation:

oocyte bank

They are eggs that are frozen at -196 degrees Celsius and that come from these same donors that we have already mentioned and that we have kept in quarantine for 6 months to repeat the studies on the donors and to be able to corroborate that they are totally healthy. Once verified that these ovules come from totally healthy women, they are released to be used.

In this case, IVF with ICSI is required because thawed oocytes have greater resistance to being fertilized naturally.

Donation in Fresco

As its name suggests, the procedure is done as an organ donation, it is done fresh and the recipient and donor are required to be previously synchronized in their menstrual cycles.

In this case, the donor is constantly monitored in order to detect any problem in a timely manner and her serological tests are repeated every 6 months.

1.- Women without ovarian activity:

  • Menopause.

  • Premature ovarian failure.

2.- Women with ovarian activity:

  • Advanced reproductive age. Repeated IVF failures.

  • Mother carrier of hereditary diseases.

  • Endometriosis with severe ovarian involvement.

Methodology

Recipients (Patients):The patients undergo a match and coordination through a special program with the donor who has the greatest resemblance in terms of physical characteristics, as well as blood group to later start with contraceptives for better coordination of the cycle of both the donor and the recipient. . The recipient receives the application of a GnRH analogue to block the function of the ovaries in the case of women with ovarian activity and without this analogue in menopausal women.

With the following period after the use of contraceptives, an endometrial preparation with estrogens is started. 10 to 12 days after the start of estrogen, a vaginal ultrasound is performed to assess the endometrial thickness as well as a blood estradiol test to verify that absorption is adequate. Based on this assessment, it is decided to modify the dose of estrogen or to carry out a new control. If the results are satisfactory, we will only wait for the donor to be ready for the extraction of the ovules.

Donor:She begins ovarian stimulation on the second day of her cycle with injectable hormones in order to stimulate her ovaries and obtain an adequate number of eggs. Approximately on day 12, the eggs are extracted and fertilized with the semen of the recipient couple; the following day, fertilization is evaluated and the embryos are kept in a special culture to subsequently transfer a maximum of 2 embryos on day 3 of development or in the blastocyst stage (day 5-6 of embryonic development).

Results

Success rates vary from 65-75% per cycle performed. These percentages can be affected if there is an alteration at the semen level. At Surrogacy Mom we have the best doctors specialized in the egg donation program, with which efficiency is reflected in obtaining the pregnancy in the shortest possible time.

In the event that it is required, we also have access to a sperm bank, both national and international.
